Our purpose is to join God as he calls all children to Him through Jesus.
Our mission is to partner with families, and the faith community, in leading children to know, love, and follow Jesus Christ.
Our monthly events provide a safe and nurturing environment where families can build relationships with others, serve our community, or just have fun! Some of our events are bigger, church-wide annual activities such as Trunk of Treats and Supper with Santa. Some months we do children’s ministry family events such as going bowling, Easter egg hunts, movie nights, swim/water day, Friendsgiving, game nights, etc. We also do service projects together such as park clean up days, serving in Kingwood’s food pantry or helping pack chemo care bags. There is always something going on for our children’s ministry!
Our biggest summer event is Camp Kaio which is a day camp for 3 year olds-rising 8th graders. This takes place at the end of June at Kingwood and we use our high schoolers as counselors. We have rotations of learning a Bible story, crafts and games in the morning (similar to a VBS) and other fun activities in the afternoon such as water day, inflatables, and a field trip to SkyZone. The Camp Kaio date for 2025 is June 23-26. The cost is 30 dollars for the week for 3 year olds-rising K students (9am-12pm) and 60 dollars for rising 1st-8th graders (9am-3pm). Sign ups will open May 1st online.
Check out our family events for the spring of 2025!
Easter Egg Hunts will be April 20th!
Babies-2nd grade will have their hunt right after Bible class. Meet in the fellowship hall so we can walk over together to the MTCS playground. Parents of babies-2nd grade, please bring 1 dozen eggs (taped closed with NUT FREE prepackaged candy) per child participating and put them in the basket at the welcome center by April 16th.
The 3rd-5th grade will have a Glow in the Dark egg hunt at 5pm. Dinner will be provided and then they will hunt eggs in the auditorium. Bring a flashlight! Eggs will be provided.
Sign up online for both hunts so we can be sure to have enough eggs.
We provide Bible classes for babies through 5th grade on Sunday mornings at 10:30am and Wednesday nights at 6:30pm.
We utilize creative storytelling, games, crafts, and activities to teach the story of God, how we fit into it, and how we live it out. We teach using a large group and small group model.
We provide loving care during our 9am morning worship service on Sunday for birth through 2 years old.
Children’s Worship is for ages 3 – 2nd grade during Sunday Morning Worship. They meet in Kingwood Station following communion. The children are taught various bible verses, stories, and songs in an interactive setting, including puppets!
We value our children’s security here at Kingwood. All adult volunteers have been background checked before working with any kids. We ask that all children from birth to 5th grade be checked in upon arrival. They will receive a sticker that includes their name, their parent’s name/phone number, which class they are attending, and any medical info such as an allergy. This is to help us keep attendance and have teachers contact parents if an emergency arises.
A separate security sticker will also be printed with the child’s name sticker. These will have a corresponding code that matches each child’s name tag (one security label per family household). A parent must show the security label to pick up their child.
All children are strongly encouraged to check in for nursery, children’s worship, and Bible class upon arrival, even if the worship service has already started (you can check in for Bible class at the same time as for the nursery/children’s worship).
If anyone needs to check in to the nursery during the sermon, the security team will assist them.
Isaiah 117 house is an organization dedicated to changing the way foster care begins. After being removed from their home, children can spend the night in a loving place while they wait for their foster care placement to be arranged. Many kids come with nothing so the Isaiah 117 house packs each child a brand new bag full of new clothes, toiletries and toys to take with them.
Kingwood Children’s Ministry supports the Isaiah 117 house by sponsoring the size 18 month girl and boy clothing tubs.
